Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Start out right with this cinnamon and apple quinoa—it’s packed with protein and all nine essential amino acids. Also, it’s super tasty!

You can make it in the morning or the night before, as it reheats really well. Swirl in some honey or your favorite nut butter for an extra kick of protein and flavor!

Directions:

  • Add water, quinoa, and bite-sized apple pieces into a sauce pan.
  • Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  • Stir in cinnamon.
  • Place desired serving into bowl. If you’d like, drizzle with honey, stir in some nut butter, and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon.

Easy Apple Pie

Apple pie is a holiday staple, but it can be a little intimidating. With everything that’s going on during the holidays, we think it’s okay to cut yourself some slack and use one of the pre-made crusts!

Everyone will be able to taste the love you put into this pie when you use our deliciously tart, perfect-for-baking Granny Smiths.

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 425°. Place piecrust in ungreased 9” glass pie plate. Press dough firmly onto sides and bottom of pan.
  • In large bowl, gently mix together all filling ingredients.
  • Spoon filling into crust-lined pie plate. Add cubes of butter on top of apple filling.
  • Top with second crust. Press edges together to seal. Cut slits or shapes into top crust for ventilation.
  • Bake 15-20 minutes and remove pie plate. Cover edge of crust with tin foil to prevent burning.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes longer until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
  • Cool at least 2 hours before serving.

Low-maintenance and highly tasty, make this JUICI™ apple chutney for the perfect pairing to roast chicken, turkey, or pork.

Directions:

  • In a saucepan, mix all ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce heat and cover.
  • Simmer 30 minutes, stirring frequently, until JUICI™ apples are tender.
  • If mixture appears dry, add a little water.
  • Remove onion and ginger.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Directions:

    1.   In a large pitcher, stir wine, apple cider, apple cider vinegar, ginger beer, and lemon juice together.
    2. Add in orange and apple slices.
    3. If using, add in cinnamon stick and star anise pod.
    4. Let sit for at least 2 hours (up to overnight).
    5. Serve over ice and garnish with frozen cranberries if desired.

Vegan Butternut Squash & Apple Soup

Over the holidays, we have a tendency to overdo it—spending, eating, and drinking. If you find yourself in a food coma, use this recipe to reset! It’s full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber.

If you’re missing some protein, throw some crispy, turkey bacon crumbles on top—yum!

Directions:

  1. Add butternut squash, Starr Ranch Braeburn apples, water, yellow onion, green onion, and thyme sprigs to a large pot over high heat.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium-low and cook until butternut squash is tender, about 20 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and remove thyme sprigs.
  5. Using immersion blender, puree soup until well-combined and velvety. A food processer or blender will work as well.
  6. Put soup back on stove over medium heat. Add coconut milk and stir.
  7. Cook for five minutes. Season will salt and pepper as needed.
